"Like You" is adapted from a screenplay that I wrote when I was a teenager and is my most personal work to date. It’s an expression of nostalgia for first romance; one moment flows to another by association rather than time, and the film spirals towards a single memory of hearing: “A guy like you is going to be fine.”

Much like traversing Colorado’s Arkansas River Valley, a larger picture appears for Smith. Defined by rugged impermanence, vulnerability, and a fortune cookie of cowboy wisdom, I made "Like You" both present with the way Smith feels and reflective on the relationship in hindsight.
